Exit, Pursued by a Bear
by E.K. Johnston
Hermione is a senior in high school and the co-captain of her cheerleading squad. She has had a normal life until she is drugged and raped at cheerleading camp. She cannot remember any details about that night and there isn’t enough evidence for a DNA test. She copes well with the situation with the help of her best friend and co-captain, Polly, along with weekly sessions with a psychiatrist; her teammates and parents are also extremely supportive. She tries to remember the night and ultimately new evidence is discovered, but will her assailant ever be caught?

The Forgetting
by Sharon Cameron
Nadia lives in a small city that is completely walled in. Every twelve years the entire town forgets all of their memories except Nadia (she has never forgotten). Everyone writes down their memories in books so that they can relearn their lives. Because Nadia never forgets, she remembers that during the last Forgetting her father switched out the family members’ books for new ones. The next Forgetting is soon and Nadia, along with Gray, struggle to figure out why the Forgetting happens and why no one is allowed outside the wall. The book will be released on September 13. |
