Book Groups are the heart of Beagle and Wolf!

Our book groups are open, free of charge, and you're welcome to join us whenever you’re able.

We ask that you purchase your books from us. Mention they’re for book group and we’ll give you a 10% discount on each book. (Unfortunately, this discount is not available on e-books and audio books purchased online from us.)

We also invite outside book groups to register with us. Provide us with a contact person and your reading list.
We’ll stock your books and give members of your group a 10% discount on their book group purchases.

Journal of Democracy*

Come with suggestions for our next book.

*The article is a discussion of challenges to a liberal democracy: this is Galston's description of the essay " there is also an internal challenge to liberal democracy—a challenge from populists who seek to drive a wedge between democracy and liberalism. Liberal norms and policies, they claim, weaken democracy and harm the people. Thus, liberal institutions that prevent the people from acting democratically in their own interest should be set aside. It is this challenge on which I wish to focus."
