Dancing with the Dead One of my favorite publishers of poetry is Copper Canyon Press. This month they are releasing this gem. If you think you're not a poetry person, neither did the man who translated these gems. As so often happens, he stumbled into Chinese and Chinese poetry by chance—after checking a box on a form applying for a fellowship for learning a rare language. Once awarded the fellowship, he had to follow through, and one thing led to another. The translator does a short bio of each poet featured in the collection. Included are traditional Chinese illustrations. When reading poetry from so very long ago, I'm often struck by the thought that the feelings and struggles that humans have been experiencing for years haven't changed that much. This collection once again struck that chord in me.
