Kate DiCamillo, the Minneapolis author of such children’s books as Because of Winn-Dixie and Tale of Despereaux, has had a busy winter! She was recently named as the national Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, and is bubbling with ideas to promote reading among young people. In addition, her latest book, Flora & Ulysses: The Animated Adventures, won this year’s Newbery Award, the most prestigious prize in children’s literature.
