Catching FireWe Are in a Book!
by Mo Willems

We Are in a Book! is one of several children's books by Willems. This cute story is about two best friends: an elephant named Gerald and a pig named Piggie. In this book, Gerald and Piggie are so excited to be read! You and your kids will want to read this again and again!

Catching FireWhere the Wild Things Are
by Maurice Sendak

When Max dresses up in his wolf suit and causes mischief throughout the house, his mother sends him to bed without dinner. Max then goes on a journey to Where the Wild Things Are, becomes king over the creatures there, and eventually makes his way back home. This picture and story book is a must read!

The Case of the Missing Donutbook
by Alison McGhee

Alison McGhee has a new picture book out! It's the story of "the sheriff" (a boy known only by his self-imposed title) and "his deputy" (the dog) charged with the mission of safely bringing a dozen donuts home safely. Of course, as often happens in the course of a sheriff and deputy's work, trouble occurs. In a comic twist, a donut crime is committed by those enlisted to protect and serve the community from crime. This humorous tale highlights the oh-so-familiar nature that sometimes gets the better of us all. McGhee tells the story sparingly (a featat which many picture book authors) making the most of every word in signature McGhee style. (How I wish the publisher had printed a picture of McGhee in the back of the book smarting a slight smirk and wink). The illustrations by Isabel Roxas are just as important as the text without stealing the show. The pictures have a large, rounded, colorful quality that draw on the character's imaginations—my favorite illustration is the dog/deputy imagining the personified donuts inside the box). Don't miss the opportunity to share in this tale with a beloved little one!
