Gail says: This is not the kind of book you hurry through to find out what happens in the end, but one to read slowly, savoring the language and the author’s thoughts. There's some humor tossed in, too!
House Rules
by Jodi Picoult
Gail says: Picoult always tells a great story as well as educating us on a timely social issue. This book is about a young man with Asperger's who is accused of murder.
Angle of Declination
by Doug and Susan Mayfield
Gail says: I was very interested in this book when I discovered it was set in a location where we have fished many times in Canada.
Book club members were happy to meet the authors at Sister Wolf's last book club meeting of the season. Though the voice of the book is a female, Doug actually did the writing and everyone agreed he did a fine job.

Sally's Picks
The Chaperone
by Laura Moriarity
Sally says: In this book of historical fiction, Clara chaperones Louise Brooks in New York City for several weeks in 1922. While there, both their lives change in dramatic ways.
I Will Not Leave you Comfortless
by Jeremy Jackson
Sally says: This memoir is a moving account of the author’s 10th year, which included everyday events such as a cool new bike, a track meet, and a crush on a girl but also significant losses when his grandmother died and his older sister went away to college. The book was a Midwest Connections pick in October.
