Kent Nerburn,
speaking and signing
June 5, 7:00 (doors open at 6:30)
We are thrilled to welcome Kent Nerburn back to Beagle and Wolf Books with his new book,Lone Dog Road!Nerburn’s writings have focused on the Native American people with whom he has lived and worked for 30 years. Native leaders like Leonard Peltier and Winona LaDuke have named him “one of the few American writers who can successfully bridge the gap between Native and non-Native cultures.” Lakota author and elder Joseph Marshall has called his work "a sensitive, insightful glimpse into a Lakota soul, a feat unattainable by most non-Native writers."
In Lone Dog Road, Nerburn carries his skill of empathic storytelling further by bringing together a rich tapestry of people from different races and cultures who speak in their own individual voices to tell a compelling road story of two young Lakota boys, ages 11 and 6, who are fleeing from a government agent who has been sent to take the younger boy to an Indian boarding school.
Come to hear Kent talk about the writing of this new book, and to purchase a signed copy.
