Jen, Sally, Ann, and Tim raising a cup to welcome you

Megan and Tim at Sink

Dear friends,

We are looking forward to welcoming you back into the store!

As you may have heard, the stay at home order for Minnesota will expire on Monday and businesses may reopen, with safeguards. We’ve been getting ready for this day—the carpet has been cleaned and we are deep cleaning.

Bob and Megan with sneeze guard

Bob constructed a sneeze guard for our cash wrap.

Megan and Tim are washing every book stand in the store.
Who knew we had so many?

Our plan is to open on Wednesday, May 20.

With any luck, we’ll have flowers in the window baskets in front!

Cart with sign saying "Books to Reshelve"Here’s what will be different:

We will be open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 5:00; closed on Sundays.

We’d like customers to wear masks (and can loan you one.)

We’ll ask you to clean your hands with hand sanitizer as you enter or, if you prefer, we’ll provide gloves for you to wear.

We’ll all be practicing social distancing, staying 6 feet apart (household groups may be closer.)

If you’ve looked at an item and aren’t going to buy it, we’ll ask you to put it on a cart and we’ll sterilize and re-shelve it.

For the time being, we will not sell newspapers.

Staff will be screened upon reporting to work and will wear masks.

We will not be accepting used books.

Here’s what will stay the same:

We’ll gladly continue to provide curbside service, delivery within town, and will mail books and other items.

Book groups will meet via Zoom.

Our events for spring and summer have been cancelled and we are not yet rebooking.

We look forward to seeing you!
